If the "intimidation factor
is important in professional wrestling
today, then "Luther Reigns"
fits that bill to a scary tee. A former
WWE Smackdown superstar and bodyguard
for former WWE World Champion "Kurt
Angle", raised as a kid in New
York's brutal Hell's Kitchen, this
gargantuan monster, seemingly chiseled
from rock-solid granite, knows what
it is to struggle for survival. He's
brought those street skills to the
squared circle.
There's much more, however, to this
man-mountain than meets the eye. His
inspirational story is one of personal
success as well. The son of a single
mother, Luther Reigns left home at
the age of 16 to fend for himself,
and when he discovered that life was
survival of the fittest, he set off
to prove he could rise head and shoulders
above his dead-end troubled life.
So immense was his enormous drive,
he built himself not only to amazing
physical proportions, but mentally
as well, lifting himself by his considerable
bootstraps to respected place as a
sports medicine student at renowned
Arizona State University.
His biggest personal rush came as
he neared graduation and a friend
turned him on to the famed WCW Power
Plant, where he auditioned and became
one of the chosen few. Over the next
two years, "Luther Reigns"
competed as a single and tag team
wrestler, then known as "Horshu"
with America's then second top promotion,
WCW World Championship Wrestling.
A career that ended when he decided
to move west to his present home in
Arizona and to reevaluate his future
options.
After meeting with ICW owners, whom
he describes as "the ones who
made everything possible for me again",
Reigns is now emerging as one of ICW's
top superstars and headliners, both
in single and tag team action and
as the new enforcer for the Ballard
Brothers. "No matter who they
throw against me, I will be ready
to prove who the dominant force is
here in your federation. Everybody
will know my name!" Yes, when
it comes to top wrestling action,
one thing is certain. There ain't
no business like Reigns business!
