Marcus Bagwell began his WCW career in 1992. As a tag team "specialist" Marcus captured the WCW Tag Team titles with several different partners.

In 1996, Marcus made his first major "move" in WCW - joining the NWO and taking the moniker "Buff Bagwell." Tragedy would strike, however, in 1998. A vicious top rope bulldog from Rick Steiner
left Buff hospitalized with a neck injury. One year later-after having several vertebrae surgically fused-Buff made his return to the ring-and proved he had not lost a step.

Buff soon broke away from the NWO and, for the first time, was truly on his "own." Buff's undeniable charisma and strong in-ring work did not go unnoticed by the fans, as his popularity soon skyrocketed. Catchphrases like "Buff is the Stuff" and "Buff Daddy" could be found emblazoned on signs in virtually every WCW arena. Buff's finishing move -the Buff Blockbuster-would lead to wins over the likes of Diamond Dallas Page, Disco Inferno, and Curt Henning.

In 2001after the sale of WCW Buff Bagwell made pro wrestling history by wrestling Booker T-in the FIRST WCW WORLD TITLE match held on WWE Monday Night RAW.
